Kavin Fung
is the editor-in-chief of the A1 Chinese Radio News department. Her responsibilities include translating , editing and reporting news on-air.
She began her broadcasting career at Fairchild Radio, covering events such as 9/11 attack had the impact at Pearson, the arrival of Pope John Paul II on World Youth Day 2002, and the SARS outbreak in 2003. In 2008, she joined A1 Chinese Radio. Over the years, she has covered the municipal, provincial and federal elections and also interviewed a number of political figures, such as Toronto Mayor Ford and MP Olivia Chow.
During the G20 summit in 2010, she had a opportunity to follow the full gear police and cover the protest stories in downtown Toronto.
In addition to broadcasting, Kavin is also a writer. In recent years, writing a column in the Sing Tao Daily gives her a chance to evaluate news in a variety of perspectives. She finds that there are many life lessons to be learned from these everyday events and this makes her job a satisfying experience.
